Can’t tell your left from your right?
Published by: Peter

This is when I began to understand neurodiversity, because I couldn’t tell my left from my right.

Once upon a time the simple s a tatement of not being able to tell your left from your right or being confused between left and right was regarded simply as a statement of fact. Now apparently it has the additional label ‘neuro-divergent’.

What needs to be asked is, how does labelling left-right confusion as neuro-divergent add anything new to the phenomenon? Does it in anyway ‘explain’ the confusion.

However, in so far as the confusion is ’caused’ by an unacknowledged mis-match between the writing and the wright hand it is only neuro-divergent in respect of being biologically left adept rather than right adept. The ‘confusion’ or ‘problem’ is readily resolved by identifying and then acknowledging the mis-match!
